I (Nick Jackson) moved to Washington back in 2013 to pastor Timberline Baptist Church in Lacey, Washington. The Pacific Northwest is an incredible place to be a Christian. There is breathtaking beauty found in God’s creation, and the people here are open and honest about their spiritual beliefs.

At the same time, people are very resistant to the gospel, and the churches face enormous pressure from the culture.

While I have developed many wonderful relationships with pastors who are zealous for the gospel and are running with endurance, I have also encountered many pastors who feel isolated and are burdened with the weight of shepherding their church.

(insert 2-5 sentences on ozan and how we became connected)

In 2023, Ozan and I began to talk and pray about having a conference in the Northwest specifically for pastors and church leaders to equip and encourage them with the Word of God. God’s word is the means by which we are saved, and it is the power of God to strengthen us so that we can fight the good fight of faith. We also wanted to create a space for pastors to gather, make new friends and connections, and be reminded that they are not alone.  The result of our prayer and planning is Sound Theology. It is a conference by the local church for the local church. Each speaker is a pastor of a local church here in the Northwest.  One of our core convictions is in the sufficiency of God’s Word for the Supremacy of Christ. We strongly believe that God’s Word is central to the health and vitality of the pastor and also the church. South Theology is committed to demonstrating robust, reformed biblical preaching.

Timberline Baptist Church is sponsoring Sound Theology. This is a reformed Baptist church committed to making disciples for the glory of Christ in all nations.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do. Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
